Sea World

I had a chance to go to Sea World this last weekend, so I did and man! It's been ages since I've been down there, that it basically was a whole new experience for me. Well, knowing me I had to bring my camera but I wanted to travel light. So I brought my trusty 18-200mm with me on the trip to cover my all my bases with one lens. Here's a few shots during the day as well as a few at night. If you ever get a chance to go, check out Pets Rule, Sea Lions Tonite and Shamu Rocks. All of them are awesome shows! As for the night shots that I did, I only wished I had my 70-200 2.8 to get me some faster shutter speeds but you work with what you have right?

Cheers!

Dang these Mammals are Smart!

Time To get Wet!

I think this is the real UnderDog?

Did I say dog's can fly?

Everytime I see this picture I think of Mami Vice.

NEW dslr cameras

So if you all don't know that last week nikon and canon introduced a few more new dslrs to the market. Canon with the 40d and the 1ds Mark III which is a 21mp Full Frame DSLR Camera (awesome). As well as Nikon with the D300 and the D3 which is their first full Frame FX CMOS sensor 12mp dlsr Camera that can shoot at 9 fps (Fastest Full Frame Camera wow!). The gear just keeps on getting better. I'm really excited with all the new technology that's come out in the photography industry. That's the one reason why I got back into photography in the first place! So now I just need to know where my money would be going to with which equipment?

Canon EOS-1Ds Mark III the new EOS-1Ds Mark III, an entirely new 21.1-megapixel full-frame Canon CMOS sensor delivers astounding image quality and creates new photographic possibilities. And with dual DIGIC III processors teaming up to share the workload of professional shooting, photographers will enjoy faster data handling, camera operation and refined image performance. The EOS Integrated Cleaning System means sensor dust is a problem of the past, but if it were there, you'd definitely be able to see it on the 3" LCD on the back of the camera. The new EOS-1Ds Mark III is the professional photographer's new high-end, full frame powerhouse DSLR.
Some Features Include:

• 21 Megapixels
• Full frame CMOS sensor
• Dual DIGIC III processors• EOS Integrated Cleaning System
• Auto focus system with 19 cross type sensors and 26 focus assist points
• 3" LCD with Live View mode
• Redesigned viewfinder, now wider and brighter
• 14-bit RAW capture capability

Canon EOS 40DThe EOS 40D steps up and shadows the 30D with new features like Canon's EOS Integrated Cleaning System, Live View Function, a more powerful DIGIC III Image Processor, plus a 10.1-megapixel CMOS sensor, a 3" LCD monitor and more. The EOS 40D elevates digital photography to new heights, enhancing the shooting experience, and delivering images one could only expect from a Canon.
Some Features Include:

• 10 Megapixels
• 6.5 fps, max. burst 75 (JPG)
• DIGIC III processor
• EOS Integrated Cleaning System
• New AF system with 9 cross-type sensors
• 3" LCD with Live View mode
• 14-bit RAW capture capability

Now for the Nikon side of things..............

Nikon has announced two new professional level DSLRs—the full frame, 12 megapixel D3 and the 12 megapixel D300. Packed with all the latest technology, these new Nikon cameras are sure to capture the attention of professional shooters in every corner of the photographic industry.
D3The D3 introduces the latest advancement in Nikon sensor technology with its full frame FX format CMOS imaging sensor. This new sensor technology promises reduced noise levels and higher quality images in low-light situations with an ISO range from 200 to 6400 (expandable to an equivalent of 25,600 or down to 100). It also features the EXPEED image processing system, which allows the D3 to process massive amounts of information. The EXPEED system features 14-bit A/D conversion with 16-bit image processing. The D3 is expected to ship in November 2007.
More D3 features include:• First ever Nikon DSLR with a full frame sensor (FX format)• 12.1 megapixel full-frame sensor • ISO 200 - 6400 (with boost up to ISO 25,600)• 14-bit A/D conversion, 12 channel readout• Nikon EXPEED image processor (Capture NX processing and NR algorithms, lower power)• Super fast operation (power-up 12 ms, shutter lag 41 ms, black-out 74 ms)• New Multi-CAM3500FX autofocus sensor (51-point, 15 cross-type, more vertical coverage)• Scene Recognition System (uses AE sensor, AF sensor)• 10/11 frames per second continuous in DX-crop mode (AF / no-AF)• Dual Compact Flash card slots (overflow, back-up, RAW on 1 / JPEG on 2, copy)• 3" LCD monitor• Live View with either phase detect (mirror up/down) or contrast detect autofocus• Virtual horizon indicates if camera is level (like an aircraft cockpit display)• Buttons sealed against moisture

D300The D300 Features the Nikon DX format image sensor and shares much of the same new technology of the D3. Most notable of those points: EXPEED image processor; sensitivity up to ISO 6400 (with boost); the new 51-point autofocus system; 3" LCD monitor with a wider angle of view; and a self-cleaning sensor unit (low-pass filter vibration). The D300 is expected to ship in November 2007.
More D300 features include:• 12.3 megapixel DX format CMOS sensor• Self-cleaning sensor unit (low-pass filter vibration)• ISO 200 - 3200 (6400 with boost)• 14-bit A/D conversion• Nikon EXPEED image processor (Capture NX processing and NR algorithms, lower power)• Super fast operation (power-up 13 ms, shutter lag 45 ms, black-out 100 ms)• New Multi-CAM3500DX autofocus sensor (51-point, 15 cross-type, more vertical coverage)• Scene Recognition System (uses AE sensor, AF sensor)• Six frames per second continuous shooting Compact Flash UDMA support• 3" LCD monitor• Live View with either phase detect (mirror up/down) or contrast detect Auto Focus• Buttons sealed against moisture
